FAQ’s

Will people be able to tell I’ve had a procedure?

The procedure is building on your hairline, so most people have said that others don’t realize it until they bring it up themselves.

Can any type of thinning hair be worked on?

We can help both men and women, and a variety of hair types and hair loss conditions. It is also perfect for hiding surgery scars.

How much does SMP cost?

It depends on the area. We have a sample photo, so compare that with our price chart. If you have any concerns or are unsure, we recommend starting with a small area of about ½ inch x ½ inch.

Will it affect any future hair growth?

There is almost no affect to future hair growth. The pigment is deposited in the shallow areas of the skin, in the epidermis and dermis.

Is this procedure painful?

—-Each person has a different tolerance for pain. Some have said that they feel only a little discomfort, while others have said it was somewhat painful.

How many sessions are needed?

——In most cases two sessions will be needed, while other times it may require three.

It depends on the client. Most clients return for a refresher after 2 or 3years, but some come back prior to that, while for others it could last for 5 years. We do recommend touch up in a year.

People suffering from the following conditions should NOT undergo SMP under any circumstances.
• Seborrheic dermatitis
• Pemphigus
• Psoriasis
• Eczema

How long it will last?

We recommend annual retouching, but usually your scalp should keep for about 2-3 years, when they start to fade. However, depending your skin type-especially oily skin types -fading can come earlier.

Can I also use a wig?

Yes! Although immediately following the procedure it could irritate the affected area, so we ask that you wait about a week.

Can you remove the SMP pigments?

If you want to remove any pigments done somewhere else, we can remove them at our salon. Please ask us for details.
